One pile away from an episode of Hoarders

I have only ever seen one episode of Hoarders but that was all it took for me to start having nightmares about a Hazmat crew showing up on my doorstep and taking away all my clothes in a dump truck. I've accumulated quite a bit of stuff over the years. I used to a have a strict "item in/item out" policy, until one day I realized that I was giving away stuff that I still liked. But now I'm just like one of those nuts on Hoarders who clings to a gas station cup while shrieking "but I might NEED it someday!"... just replace the gas station cup with a leopard print tank that I haven't worn in five years.

It goes without saying that money has been a leeetle tight since I quit my job to be a full-time momma. This has helped to stop the incoming flow of clothing and has forced me to start "shopping" my closet. Luckily, there are lots of fun things that I had completely forgotten about. Like the jacket I'm wearing today, it was one of my favorites and I used to think it was sort of lucky since good things always seemed to happen when I wore it. I landed a job while wearing it. I wore it on one of the best dates ever with Brian. My best friend even got engaged while wearing it. So who knows, maybe today the Prize Patrol will knock on my door with one of those ginormous checks.

The moral of the story is...being a hoarder sometimes pays off. :)

  1. I think you are in no danger of becoming a hoarder. In other words, keep your wardrobe. It's too darn cute to give away!
