Splash Pad Review: Liberty Park

So, I realized this week that we had actually finished visiting all the splash pads in Utah Valley. For some reason I thought there were still a few more, but I guess 7 splash pads in one county isn't too shabby. (For all of my beefs about Utah, it aint a bad place to have kids.) But I wasn't quite ready to call this project done so I looked up Salt Lake County splash pads and picked out a few for us to check out up there. It's a bit of drive but Shye and I have had some extra time on our hands ever since Brian got a second job as a teaching assistant at BYU. He is often gone from 6am til 8 or 9pm. Poor Brian. (Everybody start praying, sending positive vibes, crossing yourselves, rain-dancing, or whatever you do that he will get just one of the millions of jobs he has applied for in the past few months.)

This week we went to the Liberty Park splash pad. It wasn't really a splash pad though. It was more like a bunch of little man-made streams, seven of them actually, that wound their way down to a small wading pool area at the end. And it was awesome. Shye really loves the lazy-river/stream thingys like the Springville and Highland City splash pads have. Normally, we only spend about an hour tops at a splash pad. But we were at this one for almost 3 hours and Shye still didn't want to leave. There were lots of places to sit and plenty of shade. Of course, my only caveat is that is waaay to far for us or we would probably be at this splash pad all summer long. And here's a buttload of pictures of our little adventure.

This was her reaction when I told her we had to leave.
Liberty Park report card
The fountains: 5/5 (There actually weren't any fountains at all, but since Shye loved it I'm giving it a 5)
Ambiance: 4/5
Crowd factor: 4/5
Proximity: -2/5
Shady spots for mom: 5/5

Overall score 16/25
