But before summer is over I have a few more splash pads to squeeze in. This week we checked out the Alpine splash pad at Creekside park. If Brian and I ever are able to buy a house I want to live in Alpine. It is such a pretty little town tucked back against the mountains. And the park was great, with several play areas for both little and big kids. The splash pad itself was pretty unique with lots of water toys (towers? toys? I'm not really sure what you call those things). Several of them had handles and could be rotated and aimed in different directions. There were a few very serious water wars going on. This splash pad is also enclosed, which I thought was great at first but I soon realized how frustrating it was to not be able to reach Shye immediately. It also created a bit of a crowd at the entrance of the splash pad. There were benches all around the splash pad but none were shaded so I got a little overheated. One of these days I'm just going to have to invest in one of those ginormous umbrellas for our splash pad outings.
