She is very into her pants. At church last week she was pointing out shirt, shoes, and then she was like, where's my pants? I said, you aren't wearing pants you are wearing a dress. She was like, oh no! pants, mom, pants!
She is our designated door shutter, toilet flusher, and button pusher. If anyone else tries to do any of these things she will flip out.
I bought some sidewalk chalk thinking she would like to get her scribbles out but instead she just makes me do all the work writing all the letters and shapes her little heart desires.
She loves to snuggle in the morning. She wakes me up with hugs and kisses and then we lay in bed for about a half an hour while she chatters away at me. It's not a terrible way to wake up.
Her favorite game these days is following the leader. She has to be the leader of course and Brian and I copy everything she does. She gets such a kick out of it.
She is super into Frozen, Tangled, and the Little Mermaid. She can sing most of Frozen but she wont do it if anyone is watching. Her other favorite show is Super Why and I swear that show is amazing. Shye has learned all of her letters, sounds, and is starting be able to spell words.
I've been trying to teach her please, thank you, and sorry. She says them all but gets them mixed up. Like if she hurts me she will give me a kiss and say "a kew!"(thank you).
One of the things that I've learned over and over with this girl is that she does things at her own pace. Whenever I try to force to do something when I want her to or before she is ready it is a disaster. But when I let her do things in her own time things go so smoothly. I recently decided to push her in a certain area that I knew she wasn't really ready for. It was awful and frustrating and Shye knew she wasn't meeting my expectations. She kept crying and saying, "sowwy mom. kiss?" I felt terrible and I ultimately decided that I needed to put my pride and ego on the back-burner and let her decide when she was ready learn.
Remember how I said a few months back that she seems to go through phases of being sweet and then phases of being an absolute demon? Well, she is in one of her angel phases. She has been so sweet and affectionate for the past month or so. She has literally been giving out hugs to random strangers (much to Brian's consternation) every where we go. She has even been really sweet to Brian. I swear for the longest time she saw Brian as an intruder on our relationship. It didn't help that he was always gone so much working and stuff, sometimes she only saw him on the weekends. She was so mean to him. Since we've been living in SLC Brian is home much more and I think she finally just accepted that he probably isn't going anywhere. Haha!
We love this sweet girl. She is the brightest ray of sunshine in our lives and we thank heaven for her.
She is a sweet girl grandma loves her
ReplyDeleteI love these pictures. She is a sweet girl and I can't believe she's already 3!
ReplyDeleteI love it when my kids go through those angel phases. I think she is looking more and more like you as she gets older.
