They were a lot more fun back when Shye was immobile. And less vocal about her opinions. I'm quite happy to stay home most days but Shye is Little Miss Social Butterfly. She demands at least one playdate a week or she will threaten to go on a nap strike. Naptimes are non-negotiable so I dutifully plan an outing or two every week to keep her appeased. Here are a few of our latest ones.
Bridal Veil Falls.
I've never understood why Utahans always rave about how beautiful these falls are. I mean really, it just looks like a little trickle of water running down some rocks. I like my waterfalls to be a bit more dramatic.
But I must say that Bridal Veil Falls have finally won me over. It was gorgeous up there. And the park next to the falls looked like something straight out of my dreams...or the East Coast, one or the other.

Those delicious baby cheeks have got me baby hungry again.
Our very own Huckleberry Finn.
The Dinosaur Muesum
It was a rainy day so we had to think of something indoors. Shye had more fun playing "catch me if you can momma" than she did looking at all the fossils. Oh the miles I log chasing after this girl. I need to invest in some better running shoes since I don't think she is going to slow down anytime soon.
"It's behind me, isn't it?"
Having a meltdown right in front of the Hongshonasaurus. I was so embarrassed.
Another day, another busted lip.
What about you, what do you do for playdates?

How do you keep her from climbing into the exhibits? We keep our girls firmly strapped into their stroller...otherwise all HELL breaks loose. Suggestions?
ReplyDeleteNo suggestions. Shye isn't that well behaved. She wasn't so interested in climbing all over exhibits so much as she was in running around. And boy, did she run. I only let her run around for a little bit and then she went back into her stroller.
DeleteIsabelle's play dates usually involve having friends over. I don't really consider them play dates because we don't actually go anywhere. Well, sometimes we hit up the park right by our house, but for the most part I'm hosting the neighborhood crew in my family room. It works for us. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!
DeleteI'm guessing she was devastated when she found out that dinosaurs are extinct. She was weeping and wailing over the potential that could have been. Between that and the ombré cups, she must be feeling sad that her intellectual superiority is misunderstood. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, she is so advanced that she is going thru her terribles twos early. :)
DeleteLooks like fun! Dane is in need of a new friend to play with. It was so nice and easy with Roan. Now, I'm going to have to put some effort into scheduling play dates. He misses his friend and is taking it out on me.
