The view from where I'm sitting

The funny thing about kids is that they seem to have a sixth sense for whether or not they have your full attention. If I sit and just watch her, Shye will play for hours contentedly. The moment I start to read or get online she crawls over to me and wants me to hold her.

I'm beginning to think she needs a sibling to keep her occupied.

Whatcha doin momma?

I guess I'll wait.

Anyone know where can I buy a child, cuz I sure as heck am not doing that pregnancy thing again anytime soon.

  1. From my experience, another sibling means:

    1. Another kid who wants your attention, which gives you even less personal time.
    2. A sparing partner for your 1st kid, which means they now fight, which gives you even less personal time.
    3. Bigger messes, which gives you even less personal time (even if you make them clean it up, because you have to supervise if you want it done).

If you are looking for more personal time, get rid of the one you got now...NOT get more (but they are so cute. I think you're stuck.)

  4. I was sitting here watching the twins play with each other. Then I opened my laptop and now they are both standing here staring at me. Babies are just so needy :)

  5. So completely true! And now you know the exact reason we had a second child :) It's all about getting a playmate - and FOR SURE it made things easier! Ethan entertains Kate so I don't have to, but now Kate's going to school soon, so we thought we'd have another one...It's a vicious cycle :)

  6. My daughter is the same way. And I try so hard not to get annoyed with her sometimes. I feel so awful saying that, but sometimes I just want her to go to her room and play contently while I get other things taken care of. But, then I remember, it'll only be a matter of time before she always wants to be left alone. So, I can either endure it now and feel like I did a good job when she's older, or regret not spending more time with her.

  7. I know where you could find a couple of newborns. Two brand-new babies in one apartment complex. I'm sure no one will notice if one of them goes missing...
