Let's just be friends

Dear Jeans,

I've been in love with you for as long as I can remember. I've stuck with you through all the years and fads. I loved you through thick and thin, or rather your wide-legged days (the 90's) all the way to your more recent skinny days and everything in between. Your ability to slim thighs and boost butts is amazing, pretty much the second best thing to cosmetic surgery. But in recent years you've gotten a little too expensive for my taste. We won't talk about that one time I spent an entire paycheck on just one pair. And then seriously, what's the deal with shrinking two sizes in the dryer? The deep knee bends and squats required just to make you fit again are like a built-in workout program. But I don't want a workout, I just want to get dressed. Is that really too much to ask for?

But to be honest, I think our deepest issue is that I'm just flat out bored with you.

It's no secret that my eye has been wandering for a while. I've been having a lot of fun with colored denim. They have been rocking my wardrobe and opening up all sorts of new possibilities. It's definitely not a long-term relationship sort of thing but it has been so good for me to try new things.

But don't worry Jeans, this isn't the end. We can still be friends. You will always hold a special place in my heart and my drawer.

Love,
Shawna

  8. I'm sold on them just for the non shrinking aspect. I washed all of my jeans before I put them away till after Dane was born. So now when I tried them on to see if any of them fit it was even worse.
