- I understand that season 3 airs in the UK in September but will not grace US TVs until January 2013. We Americans have to wait 11 months for the next season?! I could gestate a human being in less time. We have fought and won wars in less time. That's right Britain, you keep that in mind.
- And what's the deal with 7 episodes? Why 7? Can't we at least round it up to a nice even number like say, 10? Geez, and I thought the Brits were on the decimal system.
- Dame Maggie Smith is my latest girl crush. She is basically a much wittier, classier Betty White. She is a dame afterall. I know, I know, she doesn't write her own lines but I don't think anyone else could deliver them so witheringly. Here are some of my favorite Maggie moments from season 1.
So long Downton, until next year I will be drowning my sorrows in a giant tub of peanut butter whilst re-watching the past two seasons. And praying most fervently that the end of the world be postponed until at least March 2013.
I've never watched Downtown Abbey! Am I missing out? Maybe I'll wait until closer to January to start watching :)
ReplyDeleteSorry Shawna. Just so you know British shows are usually either 6 seasons or 12 so don't get to excited. They don't have commercials so the episodes are edited for us, which is one of the reasons it's an odd number. What's worse is they remove scenes to make room for the commercials.
ReplyDeleteHopefully with enough Americans complaining they will air it at the same time like they do with Doctor Who. :D If it makes you feel any better they also have to wait 11 months as their wait started before yours.

i'm so upset because i only have season one of netflix but i guess this gives me plenty of time to watch season 2 until the next season starts.

ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't say this before there are 7 episodes because in the UK there is what's called a Christmas episode. As a gift to the fans the shows make one episode for the holiday. It's quite nice I think.
