Because I'm a resolver

So my friend Karen is doing a little project on her blog called Project 52. Basically it means doing 52 goals in the 52 weeks of 2011. Yes, that is pretty much one goal a week. Crazy, I know. Now, there is some way that we are supposed to be able to link up to Project 52 and report but since I'm new at this whole blogging thing and well... I'm blonde too so it could be a while before I figure out how to link up to her Project. In the meantime, I thought I would post my goals anyway.

1. Blog tutoring with Karen
2. Gain 20lbs and then lose 50lbs.
3. Make and send out Christmas cards
4. Buy a new piece of furniture (baby furniture doesn't count)
5. Go rock climbing
6. Workout 3x per week
7. Write 2 blog posts per week
8. Print out blog posts and save in a binder as a journal
9. Make a wedding album
10. Try one new vegetarian recipe per week
11. Make and wear a new skirt
12. Read Book of Mormon cover to cover again
13. Have family photos taken this fall
14. Decorate bathroom
15. Buy 2 new games
16. Host a movie night
17. Go on an overnight trip somewhere in CA
18. Go ziplining
19. Learn to shoot a gun
20. Scan all of grandmother's genealogy documents
21. Scan all of dad's pictures
22. Run a 5k
23. Go to the Getty
24. Make 20 new cards
25. Go one month without sugar
26. Get a massage
27. Make something for Baby Faye
28. Arrange a hike
29. Do the Clean diet for three weeks
30. Read one non-fiction book
31. Read Jane Eyre
32. Read To Kill a Mockingbird
33. Read Crime and Punishment
34. Read Anna Karenina
35. Read 100 Years of Solitude
36. Read Lord of the Flies
37. Read On the Road
38. Read Moby Dick
39. Read Ulysses
40. Read Oliver Twist
41. Read the Age of Innocence
42. Read Vanity Fair
43. Invite people over for dinner once a month
44. Plan a date night once a month
45. Watch one movie per week with Brian
46. Completely clean out and detail my car twice this year47. Get a haircut
48. Buy a new black purse
49. Join the library
50. Send out birthday cards to family
51. Clean out closet
52. Become a mom.

That should do it. Now, I know some of these are easy, but keep in mind some of these are weekly or monthly like trying one new vegetarian recipe per week, so I actually have more than 52 goals. And others things I simply won't do unless I actually make a goal to do them like getting a haircut, I sometimes go more than a year without a haircut.

I will post updates from time to time with my progress or (hopefully not) non-progress. Feel free to call me out on my slackiness.

And yes, I just made up the word slackiness. Using proper words was not one of my goals.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

  1. That's a great list! I think one or two of those books should show up in the Book Club rotation.

  2. I think you guys should come up here for your CA trip.there is so much to do: jet ski, hiking, kayaking, camping, all that outdoorsy stuff you love. :)

  3. Kyle, I had to laugh at you referring to me as outdoorsy. I do love the outdoors and things like jet skiing, hiking, and kyaking (even though I've never tried it). But I HAVE to sleep in a bed. And I absolutely must have running water, you know, like a toilet and shower...and maybe a jacuzzi tub too. So, I'm not big on camping.
But maybe we will make it up there to see you. I definitely want to see Northern CA.

  7. I love the goals! I agree with a lot of those! Let me know how the no sugar goes or the eat clean diet. I've been thinking about both of those lately. I don't know if I can do it, but I would like to try.
