Like I really, really love movies.
If I had it my way I would watch movies for a living.
But that being said, there haven't been very many movies in the past few years that have gotten me excited.
Now, I like a wide variety of movies.
Summer popcorn flicks, made-on-a-dime indies, period dramas, cheesy romantic comedies, and big budget action thrillers.
But really, there have been a lot of crappy movies lately.
2010 brought us winners like Burlesque, The Last Airbender, The Bounty Hunter, Jonah Hex, and what will soon be used as a new torture method: When in Rome.
Needless to say, I didn't see very many movies last year.
But that was 2010.
2011 is looking far more promising...not for real estate values or commodities,
but for movies, it looks like a gold mine.
Here are some movies I'm super excited about.
Who cares if Orlando or Keira aren't going to be in the fourth Pirates?
Captain Jack is who we really want to see more of in the first place.
I love this movie already.
(My one hope is that there will be fewer slimy CGI monsters.)
Can't go wrong there.
Baz Luhrmann is one of my favorite directors.
Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books.
Leonardo is a pretty good actor.
Carey Mulligan is a fantastic actress.
This movie should be an easy win.
Ok, I couldn't find a poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Anyway, I loved Part 1 so Part 2 should be good too.
With the exception of part 4, which just had waaay too many bad CGI characters, I've liked all the Harry Potter movies.
There is nothing I love more than a new adaptation of an old fairy tale.
Catherine Hardwicke is a good director and has a knack for capturing star-crossed young lovers.
And I especially like the look of this movie.
Sort of fantastical, yet dark.
Yeah, no movie poster for this one either.
(p.s. doing a google image search for Breaking Dawn brought up some um...interesting results. Don't do it.)
I loved the books and have liked the movies so far.
My hopes aren't high for Breaking Dawn so I shouldn't be disappointed.

Let's face it. Pirates 2 & 3 would have been much better without one Elizabeth Swan. Can't wait for the 4th. I'm looking forward to all of the movies on your list in varying degrees and for different reasons. (Breaking Dawn because then it will finally be over... ;-) )
ReplyDeleteOthers I want to see: The Green Lantern, Super 8, Captain America, The Help...
It's gonna be a good year.
I'm equally as excited for all of these movies too! I love Jane Eyre! I have the BBC version of it and I love it. Loved the book too. :)
