Conner Prairie

Just outside Indianapolis is a little original settlement called Conner Prairie. I'm already a sucker for anything even remotely historical. But then add in employees who dress and speak in a period appropriate fashion and I'm a total goner.

Shye: "Ugh! I hate history!"

There was also an open barn where the kids could pet all the animals.
Naturally, I thought Shye would love this. But it turns out that her love for animals is strictly limited to cats.

The "store" was incredibly disappointing. I'm guessing the reason there was no such thing as a shopaholic back in the day was because the most exciting thing to buy was a giant box of nails.

Thanks for the little trip back in time Conner Prairie!

  1. That looks like such a fun place!

When I visited Arlington Cemetery a few weeks ago, I was surprised to find people in period dress at the Robert E. Lee house. It seemed weird at a cemetery.
