Or going on a walk with Shye and finding these trees that were positively dead looking just last week now bursting with blossoms. Spring in Utah is gorgeous. I just wish it was longer than a few weeks.
And of course it's always fun to go on a Vicodin laced online shopping spree at 4:30 am and then have no memory of it until my husband opened the credit card statement. I have to admit though that I was impressed that even in my drug induced high I showed some restraint and kept the total under $45. Brian, however, was not similarly impressed. I really need to ask my doctor for a different painkiller because Vicodin, after relieving the pain, always makes me want to shop. I don't think bankruptcy should be the side effect of any drug. But I'm secretly kind of excited to see what I got, since I can't remember what I ordered.
And then the other day I stumbled upon a pile of Baby Sitters Club books at my thrift store. I gasped so loud that the three people on the same aisle as me all looked up to see what the big deal was. I was positively OBSESSED with these books between the ages of 9-12. Maybe it's because I'm turning thirty in a few days and I have this intense desire to relive some childhood memories (isn't 30 a bit young for a midlife crisis?) but I've been dying to reread a few of these. I picked out a couple (happy early birthday to me!) and tried not to look too embarrassed as I checked out.
And last but not least, Ranunculus. Because really, what a ridiculus name for such a happy flower. This flower seems to be popping up everywhere, in the grocery store check out lanes, in my mil's garden, and my Instagram feed. And just like trying to keep your eyes open while you sneeze, it's practically impossible to stay sad while saying Ranunculus. Go ahead, try it.
That cake looks yummy and those flowers are very pretty. Glad spring is bringing on some good feelings. :)I love to slowly see the mountains richer with green color. Spring is awesome and I cannot wait to see the Fall colors, well I can for at least 6 months because right Fall is winter...again. Winter can take its time.
ReplyDeleteI always bought stuff when I was up nursing babies and could never remember doing so until they arrived at my door. It's the best way to shop! :) Hope your feeling better
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering what those flowers are called. I've been seeing them everywhere and I love them! That cake looks soooo yummy! I haven't seen the Saturday session of conference yet and I think a chocolate cake is in order.
