Matchy Match

It's happened.
I've become one of those mothers who tries to dress like her daughter.

Am I imagining things or are kids clothes waaay cuter than they used to be? When my little sister was a baby/toddler I seem to remember a whole lotta Winnie the Poo and Mickey Mouse clothes. But these days it seems like most kids clothes look like something straight out of a J. Crew catalog. I just want to die every time I walk into Baby Gap or Gymboree. Whenever there is a showdown between cute baby clothes and the budget, the cute baby clothes win. Every time. Suffice it to say, I'm not allowed in kids clothing stores with my credit card anymore.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, so somedays after I get Shye dressed I'm just like, "Dang that outfit is cute, I wonder if I can recreate it with my closet." I usually can't. Mostly because I don't own any rompers or sparkly strawberry shoes. (I WISH!!!) But every once in a while we do get a matchy outfit and I'm all giggles and twirls for the the rest of the day. Despite the strange looks I get from strangers.
Just call us the Gingham Girls.

Matchy polka dot skirts and bright tops.

Matchy denim skirts.

Matchy white eyelet tops and jeans.

Of course, Shye is probably going to hate me for this someday. But then again, who knows, maybe if I get this whole dressing like my daughter thing out of my system now she won't have to worry about it when she is 16.
